Permits, Codes, and Field Towers: What to Sort Out Before You Install

A field tower is a permanent structure, and like any structure it can come with permitting and code requirements depending on where you are. Sorting this out early keeps your install on schedule. Here's the lay of the land.

Permitting is local

Requirements vary by state, county, and district. Some installations need a building permit and engineered drawings; others are more straightforward. Your first call should be to your local building authority to find out what applies to your site.

Who files what

On projects with an architect or engineer of record, the design professional often handles code filings — such as an Indiana Construction Design Release — rather than the tower manufacturer. Clarify those responsibilities up front so nothing falls through the cracks.

What we provide

  • Engineered drawings — we supply the tower drawings and specs your authority or architect needs for review.

  • Structural details — load and build information to support code review.

  • Coordination — we'll work with your team to get them what they need.

We build and deliver the tower; installation and local permitting are handled on your end. For how this fits into the bigger picture, see from quote to delivery.

Plan it early

Start the permitting conversation as soon as you're serious about a tower — it's the step most likely to add time if it's left to the end. Our FAQs answer more common questions, and when you're ready, reach out for a quote.
